Strictly Come Dancing Week 2

What did we think?

Whilst there were no live performances, it was a mixture of fascination and pure entertainment listening to the professional dancers talking about their dancing backgrounds and upbringings. It was no surprise to see that nearly all of the professional dancers had very similar upbringings of being dancers from a young age, then going through an academy of some sort which led to them to their profession today. It was also thoroughly enjoyable taking a trip down memory lane with the professional dancers talking about previous dancing experiences on Strictly Come Dancing. Our favourite dance that was looked back on without question has to be Ed Balls and Katya Jones’ salsa dance to ‘Gangnam Style’ in 2016. Not only was it an incredibly well choreographed dance routine but there is just something extremely entertaining about seeing the former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer in a bright blue suit sliding across the dance floor between a professional dancers’ legs. Whilst on the topic of nostalgia and reflection, it was also very interesting seeing dancers re-watching the judges’ verdicts of their past performances with some - shall we say - different opinions to that of the judges.
